Between approximately 8 am on 25 June and 7 am on 26 June, the short outfall pipe discharged untreated wastewater into Tarakena Bay.

Signs are in place along the coastline to alert water users of areas which may be impacted by this event. Water quality samples will be collected from coastal locations once improved weather conditions allow.

Check LAWA.org.nz before visiting beaches along the south coast.

Technology Systems Investment Programme

Wellington Water has initiated a Technology Systems Investment (TSI) programme to upgrade the core essential technology systems we rely on to deliver effectively as an organisation and acquire those we don’t have currently. Doing so will provide a strong foundation for Metro Water.

What we need

Wellington Water Limited is initiating a request for proposal (RFP) to implement several core technology systems under its Technology Systems Investment (TSI) Programme. The TSI programme addresses urgent system gaps resulting from deferred investments and evolving operational needs and supports the needs of the potential new water services entity planned under the Government’s “Local Water Done Well” policy. The systems (each known as a Tower) in scope of this RFP include:

  • Programme & Project Management (PPM)
  • Health & Safety System (H&S)
  • Asset Management Information System (AMIS)
  • Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and Supply Chain Management
  • Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)
  • Billing System (Billing)
  • Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Payroll

Participants can respond to one, some or all these Towers.

The full scope of the TSI Programme also includes information management, this is being managed via a separate RFP.

The coloured boxes in the diagram below highlight the system areas of the RFP and correspond to the capability model areas.
