Work to replace a critical valve chamber on Taranaki Street will start on Monday, 26 August.

This project is essential to improve the resilience of our drinking water network. It is expected to be completed in 4-5 weeks.

The following may impact members of the public:

  • Bus Stop Relocation: Bus stop #6913 will be relocated approximately 30m south for the duration of the project.

  • Traffic Management: Traffic management will be in place on the southbound lane of Taranaki Street outside the Massey University Halls of Residence. Driveway access will be maintained, although only left turns will be permitted into and out of the driveway. Traffic management personnel will be on site between 7am – 6pm Monday to Saturday.

  • Work Hours: The hours of work will generally be 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday. There will be some noise with this work, however every effort will be made to reduce noise and disruption.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the city’s infrastructure.
