Horokiri Flood Mappping - Community Drop-in Session

Come along to our community engagement session to check out the updated flood depth maps for the Horokiri Stream catchment and chat with our flood modelling experts.

Wednesday 16 September 2026, 7pm to 9pm at Pāuatahanui School Hall

There’s no need to register, and you can drop in anytime.

What will the session cover?

Flooding impacts more people, more often than any other natural hazard in the Wellington region. Understanding flood risk is more important than ever.

Feedback from local residents has informed two new flood depth maps – now we’re sharing exactly how your lived experience of flood risk helped.

Swipe the maps here to explore the impacts of a one-in-10-year and a one-in-100-year flood event

These maps will be used by Porirua City Council to produce flood hazard maps for a District Plan change, with another chance for community input.
