Our mana whenua partners
Tiaki Wai has partnership agreements with the region’s two principal mana whenua entities:
Taranaki Whānui ki Te Upoko o Te Ika (Port Nicholson Block Settlement Trust)
Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira
We are dedicated to strengthening our relationships with mana whenua iwi in the region, and building our capability in Te Reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and matauranga Māori.
These partnerships mark a key milestone on our journey to restore te mana me te mauri o te wai, while recognising and upholding the values, aspirations, strategic priorities, and wider responsibilities of mana whenua iwi.
