Tiaki Wai is planning a major upgrade of wastewater main pipes on Kent Terrace and Oriental Parade, as part of a programme to improve the resilience and reliability of the wastewater network in Wellington’s CBD, and prepare for future growth.

Construction is expected to start in until 2029. As part of the early design process for this project, we’re doing geophysical (ground) investigations along Kent Terrace. These will involve some noisy works, overnight, in four different areas along the road.

We previously advised these investigations would take place in from 7 to 10 September; however, these have been delayed. We will advise a new date as soon as possible.

To avoid duplication of work and deliver value for money, this project will also deliver the renewal of the Oriental Parade drinking water main.
